Location

Cha Loi cave system (in Ngan Thuy commune, Le Thuy district, Quang Binh) is about 40km southwest of Dong Hoi city center. This place has left the mark of General Vo Nguyen Giap – the eldest brother of the Vietnam People’s Army and is also the home of the Bru Van Kieu ethnic group. The road through Ho Chi Minh takes about 50-60 minutes, and the DT10 and DT564B roads take more than 1 hour. Don’t forget to bring your phone to find your way.

Structure

Located at the foot of a limestone mountain, passing through lush green fields, rows of wild banana trees, and small stilt houses of the Bru Van Kieu people, appearing before visitors’ eyes is a narrow cave with an area of about 4m2 but behind it opens up an extremely large world. The cave structure is designed with 3 floors, width from 30 – 100m, average height 60m, with the highest sections reaching a height of about 90m.

Natural Highlights

Stalactites & Stalagmites: The cave features pristine formations in diverse shapes—tubular, custard-apple, cloud-like, hanging-lamp—and even ones resembling elephants and water wells. The stalactites in the cave contain a lot of silica, so when the light is shined on them, they become sparkling and beautiful.
