On september 27, the Management Board of Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park held a conference on tourism in the first nine months of 2016, aiming to draw the lessons of experience and the orientation of the remaining months and 2017. Attending the conference were Mr.Tran Tien Dung, vice chairman of the provincial people’s committee; representatives of the related departments and branches.
In the past time, total number of tourists to Phong Nha Ke Bang achieved more than 626,195 arrivals; of which international arrivals were 67,817 visitors and 558,378 domestic tourists, rose by 1% compared to the same period last year. Total revenues reached VND 102 billion.
The Park Management Board in collaboration with people’s committee of Son Trach commune and some of tourism enterprises encouraged and supported the local residents in building homestay, farmstay, hotels…
Speaking at the conference, Mr.Tran Tien Dung praised the efforts of the Management Board of Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park to overcome the difficulties in the past time and implement the guidelines of the PPC on the reduction of 30% ticket price of Phong Nha Cave and Tien Son caves and other tourist routes in the Park.
