1, Son Doong cave, Vietnam

Son Doong cave is located in  Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, Tan Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province. The cave is the largest natural cave in the world. The cave is a part of the underground system with more than 150 other connections in Vietnam near the border with Laos. The New York Times ranked Son Doong cave in 8th of 52 places you should visit in 2014.

Son Doong cave is very large with a length of at least 5 km, the equivalent capacity of 68 Boeing 777 aircraft. Even this figure may be larger.  According to scientists, today the most modern facilities has not fully explored the real length of this cave.

Not only the enormous size, Son Doong cave is also famous for a variety of biological landscape. In the Son Doong cave, explorers discovered a primitive forests with rich vegetation. There wasn’t human traces inside. Experts have called the forest  in this cave “the Garden of Eden” to express the beauty of this aesthetic.

2, The gate of hell, Turkmenistan

Darvaza Crater is also known as the gate of hell with the giant fireplace. In 1971, the geologists drilled to a gas bag filled with methane. To avoid poisonous gas leakage, they decided to burn it and hoped the gas would run out within a few weeks. However, until now the flames are still burning here and never turn off.

3, Troll’s Tongue , Norway

Trolltunga is famous for Troll’s Tongue, a ledge jutting out at an altitude of 700 meters in the Ringedalsvatnet lake. Scientists believe that this rock was generated about 10,000 years due to the disintegration of the large rock.

4, Stairs to Heaven, Oahu, Hawaii

Haiku is popular for “Stairs to Heaven”. It was built in the 1940s as a part of the communications network of the US during the World War 2. From here, visitors can watch the pretty scenery, Oahu . However, recently the storm has damaged stairs, so it isn’t used  any longer.

5, Devil’s pool , Zimbabwe and Zambia

This is a small lake located on the  Victoria Falls border between two African countries. It is at an altitude of 108 meters. The guests can take a dip and enjoy the interesting feeling, “suffocation” on the banks of the falls.

6, The cliff, Moher, Ireland

The cliffs can reach more than 200 meters high above the Atlantic Ocean at Hag’s Head. This is one of the attractions of Ireland and visitors can admire but not necessarily on the edge of the cliff cycling.

7, Mendenhall Ice Caves, Alaska, United states

This cave is located in the glacier with 19 km length at Mendenhall Valley. It is accessible by kayak. A new study says that the glacier was shortened more than 3 m in 1958 because of the warming of the earth.

8, The Kjeragbolten rock, Rogaland, Norway

This famous rock is situated at an altitude of 984 m. The rock is the favourite place for tourists who love adventure in the world  taking pictures but they will have to go through a long journey about 1,000 m mountain road.

9, “Swings in the end of the world”, Ecuador

Swinging in seismic monitoring stations in Ecuador is considered one of the most dangerous games in the world. Here, visitors swing up while the bottom is a scary canyon.

10, Neptune Islands, Australia

Since 2002, this is the only place in Australia licensed for shark cage diving. Thus, visitors will have the opportunity to come closer to white sharks. However, you should make sure your hands and feet are always in the cage.

There is also the “road to heaven” and the “road to hell “. The Kwan Yin green stone statue is carved beautifully and is a very old and valuable  statue.

2, Tam Coc – Bich Dong is called the “Ha Long Bay on land” of Ninh Binh. Tam Coc means three caves, including ” Ca” , ” Hai ” and ” Ba “. All the caves were created by the Ngo Dong River that runs through mountains. The only means of transport to discover Tam Coc is a boat. The journey to discover Tam Coc – Bich Dong is also associated with the visit to the temples in these caves.

6, Thach Dong is Located in My Duc Commune, about 5 km from the center of Ha Tien town. Thach Dong mountain is a steep limestone block. It is 90 meters above sea level and about 45 m in diameter. It has two main entrances. The wood-made Tien Son Temple is inside the cave. It was built in 1790 and rebuilt in 2003. The case is associated with the Vietnamese fairytale “Thach Sanh” so it attracts a lot of tourists

7, Son Doong is one of the largest caves in the world. It is located in Son Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province. The cave was discovered in 1991 by a local man named Ho Khanh. However, until 2006 the discovery of this cave was announced. The tour to Son Doong is offered by Oxalis, at the price of $3,000 a person. All tours to 2016 have been fully books.

That was unforgetable trip being full of fun experiences of the ambassadors. They had opportunites to discover  Son Doong cave – the world’s largest cave.

On 11th  May, 2016, the group of ambssadors from many countries ( such as Argentina,  Sweden, Italy, Britain, Australia, the Czech Republic), representatives of the UNESCO in Vietnam and the United States Assistant Secretary of State arrived Quang Binh to join the program “Conquering Son Doong – the world’s largest cave”. There was also the participation of Miss Duong Truong Thien. The group was led by the Viet Nam Ambassador – Pham Sanh Chau, the Director of External Relations and UNESCO, Culture Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Vietnam.

Tran Tien Dung, the Vice Chairman of Quang Binh gave warm greetings and best wishes to the group of ambassadors. He hoped the ambassadors to have a good  trip with unforgetable experiences.

“Through this trip, the ambassadors will help Quang Binh in the promotion of tourism and introduce many visiters to the province …” – Mr Dung said.

Mrs Camilla Mellander, the Ambassador of Sweden in Vietnam, said: “I only know information about Son Doong through the media and once wanted to visit. So, taking part in the tour “’Conquering Son Doong – Caves the world’s largest” ‘is a very exciting experience for me. I am impressed with the preservation and exploitation of natural world Heritage Site of Phong Nha-Ke Bang in Quang Binh province. It determines that the province Quang Binh doesn’t  pursue profits. Quang Binh limits the number of visitors and the human impacts on the world’s largest cave Son Doong … ”

Reportedly, the delegation of Ambassadors discovered Son Doong  cave for 5 days from 12 to 17th May , 2016. According to statistics, from the beginning of this year, there were 216 people conquering Son Doong, in which most visitors come from the United States with 95 people.

Only recently explored in 2009-2010 by the British Cave Research Association, the cave has been open to the public since 2013.
