Pa Thien Voi Mep peak - The roof of Quang Tri - 3 days 2 nights

Amidst the majestic Truong Son range of Bac Huong Hoa Nature Reserve, the two peaks of Pa Thien and Voi Mep – also known as Ta Linh Son – have long become symbols of Quang Tri land, possessing both pristine and majestic beauty and containing many historical vestiges.

The journey to conquer Pa Thien – Voi Mep will reveal to visitors a world full of pristine, poetic, and captivating beauty. To conquer this beauty, one must overcome many challenges such as: the “four-legged” slope as the first leg; then the streams of rocks covered in moss like green ladders climbing the mountain peaks; and primeval forests hidden in the early morning mist…

On the way, visitors occasionally encounter traces of war – many aircraft wrecks lying in the middle of the forest as silent witnesses of a time of war and fire. Coming to Pa Thien, visitors will feel four seasons in one day, even in just a few minutes we can see the whole blue sky and it can fade away when the fog comes…

The exposed rock formations – masterpieces of the “artist of Time” – appear majestically amidst the morning mist and afternoon rain of the Truong Son Mountains. In spring, the Pa Thien mountain forest is ablaze with flowers: clusters of rhododendrons with many species in various colors, diverse orchids, bellflowers, magnolias, and countless other unknown flower species. In addition, during their journey, tourists frequently encounter many clusters of ancient pine trees, standing as pure stands in the vast forest. Having endured harsh conditions, wind, rain, and drought, these pine clusters seem to have been shaped into unique and unusual forms in the eyes of viewers (false sandalwood, female pine, bamboo pine, peak pine, etc.);

Voi Mep Peak is 1,707 meters high. Looking from afar, visitors can feel the open space full of green Len trees swaying in the wind like the hair of young girls floating in the vast misty sky. From a general perspective, the mountain peak looks like the head and trunk of an elephant Mep on the top of a high mountain. As the highest mountain peak in Quang Tri province, it is known as the “roof of Quang Tri”.

Legend has it that more than a century ago, King Ham Nghi and his entourage passed through this mountainous region during the resistance war against the French – leaving a historical mark and pride in the minds of the local people. At the foot of Pa Thien – Voi Mep is a village of the Van Kieu people, where many unique traditional festivals are still preserved such as the New Rice Celebration, Piec Xa Ro Festival, Ra Pup Festival; along with folk musical instruments such as drums, gongs, cymbals, panpipes, sao khui, A Mam panpipes… and many folk melodies …

Day 1: Da Luc Lac ( Shaking rock) – Bai Da Moi( New rock) – Campsite

08:00: Pick-up and preparation for the journey

Guests will be picked up at their accommodation and transferred to the tour operator’s office. Here, the tour guide will explain the rules, introduce the tour program, provide important safety notes, and help with luggage preparation.

08:30: Departure to the meeting point

The vehicle will take the group to the meeting point, where guests will prepare their luggage and equip themselves with all necessary items for the trekking trip to explore Pa Thien Voi Mep.

09:00: Trekking towards Da Luc Lac.
After preparation, the group will begin trekking along a path winding through beautiful primeval forests. Lac Lac Rock is the first stop, where guests can relax and take photos with large rocks almost year-round covered in green moss, along with ancient cypress trees hundreds of years old in a peaceful natural setting.

12:00: Lunch at Da Luc Lac

Guests will enjoy a light lunch in the tranquil natural setting. This is the ideal time to recharge for the next leg of the journey.

13:30: Continue trekking and visit Pa Thiên Waterfall

After lunch, the group continues trekking through the stream, stopping to take photos at Pa Thien Waterfall, one of the area’s prominent waterfalls with its crystal-clear water and stunning scenery.

15:00: Check-in at Bai Da Moi

Bai Da Moi is the next destination, where visitors can admire giant rocks jutting out from the mountains and forests. This is an ideal opportunity for visitors to check in and capture amazing photos.

16:30: Arrive at the campsite near the foot of Pa Thien Peak

The group will arrive at the campsite located near the foot of Pa Thien Peak. This is an ideal area to rest and prepare for the next day’s trekking. Visitors will enjoy the fresh and tranquil atmosphere of the mountains and forests.

Evening: Dinner and socializing

After a long day of trekking, visitors will enjoy dinner and socialize with other members of the group, sharing interesting experiences after a day of exploration.

Day 2: Sunrise at Pa Thien – Exploring Pa Thien – Voi Mep

07:00: Breakfast and preparation for the Journey

Visitors will wake up early to watch the sunrise on the summit of Pa Thien, then have breakfast and prepare for the next exploration journey.

08:30: Trekking to Conquer Voi Mep Peak

The group continues the trekking journey to conquer Voi Mep. This is one of the highest peaks in Quang Tri, offering stunning views of the entire area. Visitors will also visit the aircraft wreck at Voi Mep, an important testament associated with heroic stories from the war.

12:30: Lunch at the summit

Visitors will enjoy a light lunch at the foot of Voi Mep peak, then rest and recharge for the following afternoon.

16:30: Sunset viewing at Pa Thien peak

After exploring Voi Mep, visitors will return to Pa Thien peak to admire the stunning sunset. This is the ideal moment to take souvenir photos and relax in the pristine wilderness.

Evening: Rest at the foot of Pa Thien peak

Visitors will rest at the foot of Pa Thien peak, relax, and prepare for the next day.

Day 3: Sunrise at Pa Thien – Bai Da Moi

5:30: Wake up to watch the sunrise at Pa Thien peak

Visitors will wake up early to watch the sunrise at Pa Thien peak, a wonderful experience as the first rays of sunlight illuminate the mountains and forests.

7:00: Breakfast

After watching the sunrise, visitors will return to the campsite for a light breakfast and prepare for the next trekking adventure.

8:30: Trekking to Bai Da Moi

Bai Da Moi is the next destination on the journey. Here, visitors will admire unique natural rock formations nestled amidst the majestic mountains and forests.

11:00: Trekking back to the meeting point

After visiting Bai Da Moi, the group will begin trekking back to the meeting point, ending the exploration.

Lunch: Lunch on the way back

Visitors will have a light lunch on the way back, rest, and chat before the end of the trip.

17:00: End of tour and farewell

The vehicle will take the group back to the initial meeting point. The tour guide will say goodbye to the visitors, ending the 3-day, 2-night trekking trip to explore Pa Thien Voi Mep.
