ITINERARY

Day 1: Phong Nha – Tan Hoa – Tien Cave 1 – River Bungalow

Morning pickup (7:00–7:30 AM) from your hotel in Phong Nha, transfer to Oxalis Tan Hoa office
Safety briefing, gear check, and trip orientation
Begin trek with a short hill climb and descent into a scenic valley
Cross a dry rocky riverbed to reach Tien Cave 1
Explore grand cave features: striped limestone walls, calcite terraces, and a high dome ceiling
Lunch near the cave, followed by a short trek to a hidden natural pool for swimming
Return to Tan Hoa and check in at River Bungalow
6:00 PM: Dinner at a local villager’s home — enjoy traditional food and cultural exchange
Overnight at River Bungalow

Day 2: Tan Hoa – Rat Cave – Hung Ton Cave – To Mo Valley – Phong Nha

Breakfast at Tu Lan Lodge
Hike through fields and meadows to Rao Nan River, cross and climb to Rat Cave
Explore the 300m-long Rat Cave with its glittering stalactites and heart-shaped formations
Trek back across the river, climb “Baby Hill” (60m), then hike through Hung Ton Valley
Enter Hung Ton Cave, climb a 10m ladder, and journey through an underground river with safety gear
Lunch beside To Mo Lake, a scenic valley featured in the film The Immortal
Final trek through valley and farmlands back to Tan Hoa
Freshen up at Oxalis office before transfer back to Phong Nha
Return to Phong Nha between 6:30 – 7:30 PM

The cost of the Tien cave-Tu Lan Discovery Tour is 5,200,000 VND per person, which covers the VAT, entrance fee, and service fee for the protection of the forest ecosystem. The following services are included in the tour:

Service team: Each tour of 10 guests will have: 1 tour guide, 1 safety assistant, 1 cook, and 4 porters. The number of team members may vary depending on the group’s physical condition.
Food and Drink: Oxalis provides food, water, tea, and coffee during the journey (not including extra requirements). Dishes are based on fixed menus, vegetarian and vegan will be provided if ordered. At the first night, enjoy a warm welcome and delicious home-cooked cuisine during a memorable dinner experience in a Tan Hoa village home.
1 night at River Bungalow: Oxalis includes a restful night in a spacious River Bungalow at Tu Lan Lodge, where guests can unwind on a private balcony overlooking the Rao Nan River and seasonal cornfields.
Included transportation: The tour package includes round-trip transportation services between Phong Nha and Tan Hoa, ensuring a seamless travel experience.
Oxalis provides 1 night at River Bungalow Tu Lan Lodge after the first day of exploration.

Safety equipment: Oxalis will provide safety equipment such as helmets, harnesses, headlights, gloves etc.
Travel insurance: Oxalis buys travel insurance for all guests participating in the tours with a maximum compensation of VND 10,000,000. Visitors are asked to buy comprehensive travel insurance for themselves before joining the tour.
