Tu Lan Lodge is located along the mountainside in Tan Hoa Commune, Minh Hoa District, Quang Binh Province, Vietnam, about 70km northwest of Phong Nha. Tu Lan Lodge is a weather-adapted accommodation in Tan Hoa Village, an area heavily affected by flooding in Quang Binh. There are years when the water only rises to the edge of the fields, but there are also years when the water rises 6-8m, flooding the entire village.

Operated by Oxalis from November 2022, Tu Lan Lodge currently has 3 different room types with diverse designs, combining luxury, modernity, and harmony with nature. Mountain Bungalow
Designed as a prefabricated house model and built on a high mountainside to avoid floods. There are 10 rooms in total and they are covered with decorative bamboo trees on the outside, creating an architecture that is in harmony with the countryside of Quang Binh. Each room has a private balcony space overlooking the large fields.
Rural Homestay
This is a weather-adaptive homestay built on the floating houses of the locals and located within the premises of the locals’ houses, providing a local-like accommodation experience.
What is special is that Oxalis has sponsored the entire construction cost according to the non-refundable sponsorship agreement between Oxalis and the homeowner, allowing the residents to be self-employed and they will have a source of income when tourists come to stay. Tu Lan Lodge will be the unit that supports the management, promotion and search for tourists for Rural Homestay, committed to providing professional and convenient services to customers.
River Bungalow
River Bungalow is a series of 10 weather-adapted rooms located within the Tu Lan Lodge premises, built according to the model of flood-proof floating houses of Tan Hoa people. When flooding occurs here, the entire room will float up so that visitors can continue their normal activities.
Each River Bungalow room is spacious and comfortable with an area of 49m2, with a cool balcony overlooking the fields and Rao Nan River.
2. Dining and cuisine
Tu Lan Lodge has a centrally located restaurant overlooking the Rao Nan River and Tan Hoa grasslands. It is considered one of the restaurants with the most beautiful “million dollar” view in Quang Binh. The restaurant specializes in serving local dishes for tour participants and outside guests.
Imagine a morning enjoying delicious breakfast dishes right in the restaurant area, while admiring the panoramic view of Tan Hoa, immersing yourself in the chirping of birds, sipping a cup of morning coffee will bring you a feeling of comfort that is hard to find.
Tu Lan Lodge was built primarily to serve guests participating in Oxalis Adventure tours, however, if visitors simply want to experience resort services and enjoy the peace here, Oxalis is still ready to serve you with a full package service. Non-staying tourists can visit Tu Lan Lodge’s restaurant and cafe area to enjoy coffee and view or order local dishes for lunch and dinner.

Dinner at local home
Nowadays, Tan Hoa is becoming a rural tourist village with activities such as cave tours, homestays, local cuisine and selling local products.
From November 2022, Oxalis will continue to offer Homestay Dinner Service to introduce the unique culinary culture of Tan Hoa people to visitors. This dinner will be prepared, cooked and served by the host himself, with the most special traditional dishes of Tan Hoa village.
Currently, guests staying at Tu Lan Lodge can book a home-cooked meal experience for VND 250,000/guest (Price includes VAT). Please inform the receptionist in advance of the number of vegetarians so that the menu can be adjusted accordingly.
